Insurance Specialist – Accounts Receivable FTE/w Benefits – Tampa

Don’t miss this opportunity to work with an amazing team and in a great work environment! We are looking to add one more full-time (M-F, hours can be somewhat flexible) Mental Health Insurance Billing-A/R Specialist to our Corporate office. Note: This is NOT a virtual position, you will be working near the Veterans Expressway and Hillsborough Ave., Tampa, FL 33634.

Principle Accountabilities:

  1. Minimum of 2-years of direct experience with Commercial, Medicaid, HMO and Third-Party billing and remittance processes, preferably in mental health.
  2. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies.
  3. Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries and disputes.
  4. Stay up to date with changes in medical coding and billing practices for Commercial, Medicaid and Medicare.
  5. Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health record systems.
  6. Experience with medical collections and accounts receivable follow-up.
  7. Analyze daily denials and aging accounts for resolution.

  8. Update and work insurance accounts via worklist or other assigned projects or reports.
  9. Send necessary appeals for payment.
  10. Call on outstanding claims to status.
  11. Note the EMR system of status and activity of invoices.
  12. Answer incoming calls for billing questions.
  13. Other tasks as required.

Work Environment & Pay:
This position is an in-office position (Monday – Friday). Salary is negotiable upon experience ($17.00 to 19.00 per hr.).

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

Physical Requirement: Must have ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. This position performs duties of above average difficulty requiring reasonable initiative and independent judgment under limited supervision.
