A unique Behavior
Analytic approach to the care of children & adolescents
What is the
BAACCA Program ? ? ?
It is the Behavior Analytic Approach
to the Care of Children & Adolescents (BAACCA). Offering a unique behavior analytic
approach, the BAACCA program provides a comprehensive residential type
service in a structured behavioral environment with specially trained foster
parents providing a high level of supervision. Our treatment team of professionals provide in-home behavior
analytic services, community support, 24-hour, seven-day a week crisis
intervention, and if needed, professional mental health and psychiatric
services,
This program is designed to meet the needs
of the child with a primary focus on behavior modification through Positive
Parenting training. Our foster parent training curriculum, “Parenting Tools
for Positive Behavior Change” coupled with the intensive ongoing training
provided by our team of Behavior Analysts, give the foster parents the tools
necessary to change behaviors and impact each child’s life. The Behavior Analysts work closely with the
foster parents to develop the skills needed to implement the parenting tools
with the goal of increasing positive behaviors and decreasing the occurrences
of negative behaviors
What is the STFC Program ?

Medicaid funded program providing intensive mental health treatment services
to children with emotional & behavioral problems that reside in a state
licensed foster home. The service provisions include weekly therapy in the
home as well as school and community visits.
The specialized foster parents provide daily clinical interventions
with the support of their clinician and
psychiatrist.
The goal of Specialized Therapeutic Foster Care is to enable a child
to manage and to work toward resolution of his / her emotional, behavioral or
psychiatric problems in a highly supportive individualized and flexible home
setting.
The Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) of each district must authorize STFC
services and review the progress and need for or continued services no less
than every six months.

serve. (I.e. Employability Skills, Mentor Program, and the Sisterhood &
Brotherhood.)
Comprehensive
Assessments . . .
An
in-depth and detailed assessment of a child’s emotional, social, behavioral
and developmental functioning within the family home, school, and
community. The goal of the assessment
is to provide specific information and recommendations to assist in family
preservation, re-unification & permanency planning.
Additional
Ancillary Programs . . .
Employability Skills Training—This program is designed to develop solid skills in preparation for
employment. While the proper technical skills to succeed on the job are
indisputably important, other skills are often over looked, such as the
ability to communicate, resolve conflicts, manage one’s time, and work with a
team. This program is taught over a two-day workshop. The first day is
comprised of an overview of the program and focuses on twelve employment
factors needed to gain employment. On
the second day, participants will have the opportunity to place applications
and participate in interviews with various companies within the
communities. All participants must be
14 to 17 years old to participate.
Mentor Program—This
program is designed to help each child develop socialization skills with
others within the community. While
children in foster care often receive the necessary tools for their
day-to-day activities the mentor program will provide additional
socialization skills necessary to succeed in life.
Sisterhood Support Group & Brotherhood
Support Group—These
programs allow young teens to participate in therapeutic activities that are
educational & fun while at the same time teach life skills. The goal of the Sisterhood is to
strengthen their self-esteem and teach them to be leaders by developing their
skills of independence. With the
support of the sisters in the program, a sister can achieve anything. The goal of the Brotherhood is to
strengthen character, shape independence and teach leadership. With the support of club members, a
brother can achieve any goal he decides for himself.
